Salem, Paolini, Giordano and Macaluso Take Home MAAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Salem hit .636 (7-for-11), drove in seven runs, smashed two homers and had three doubles to help Manhattan remain undefeated in the MAAC with a sweep of Marist last week. Salem posted a 1.455 slugging percentage, .667 on-base percentage and scored four runs against the Red Foxes.
DAN PAOLINI, SIENA
Junior, 2B, 6-0, 195, Stratford, Conn./Bunnell
Paolini batted .538 with a 1.231 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage, hitting safely in all four games and drawing four walks. He became the MAAC's all-time home run king with a grand slam to break a 4-4 tie against UMass, the benchmark 48th home run of his career.

MIKE GIORDANO, MANHATTAN
Junior, RHP, 5-10, 155, Bedford, N.Y./Fox Lane
Giordano pitched his second complete game of the year to win his fifth consecutive start with a 3-1 victory over Marist on Sunday. He recorded eight strikeouts and yielded just two walks to keep the Jaspers undefeated in the MAAC (12-0). Giordano retired 14 of the first 15 batters faced, and did not allow a hit until the fourth inning.

EDDIE MACALUSO, IONA
Freshman, LHP, 5-11, 165, Islip, N.Y./Islip
Macaluso used 114 pitches in a complete-game six-hitter vs. Niagara on Friday. He allowed two runs and struck out four batters in first MAAC win and third victory of the season. Over his last 17.2 innings pitched, he has surrendered just three runs.
