BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Iona College Women's Cross Country Team placed eighth at the NCAA Northeast Regionals held by University at Buffalo on Saturday afternoon. The Gaels were the top MAAC team at the race, finishing right between Connecticut and Stony Brook with 179 points.
Hollie Rowland led the Gaels, running the 6k course in third with a time 20:40.2. The performance earned her an at-large spot at the NCAA Division I Championship.
Other top invididual performers include the Gaels' Heidi Gregson (21:27.6) who placed 25th, Katie Niblock (21:55.8) finished 45th, followed closely by Marion Joly-Testault (21:56.3) in 46th, and Lauren Calvino (22:13.7) in 60th.
The NCAA Cross Country Championships take place at the LaVern Gibson XC Course in Terre Haute, IN on November 21.
