Sturley was named the Director of Championships & Special Events in July of 2011.

Sturley is responsible for managing a number of MAAC Championships, including those hosted by Disney Sports Attractions in Orlando, Fla. In addition, she will coordinate ESPN3 productions at ESPN Wide World of Sports with the MAAC New Media team. Sturley will also oversee MAAC SAAC activities and the conference’s awards program. 

Prior to the MAAC, Sturley was a 3rd Party Sales & Events intern at ESPN Wide World of Sports where she assisted in events such as the Old Spice Classic, the Children’s Miracle Network Golf Classic (PGA Tour), and Special Olympics Florida. In the past year she also has served as a Research Assistant for Sportsimpacts collecting data and analysis on the economic impact of Super Bowl XLV. 

Sturley received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State in 2005 and her master’s in sports management from Old Dominion in May of 2011.
