Lawrenceville, NJ - Saint Peter's won the 2011 MAAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship with a score of 250. It is the first outdoor title for the Peahens, who won the 2011 indoor championship.
Manhattan, winners of 11 of the past 13 championships, finished second with 224.50. Rider was third with 125.50, followed by Iona (118), Loyola (58), and Marist (34).
Leonie Smith set a new mark in the women's 1500-meters with a time of
4:30.46. Saint Peter's Ronnah Parham broke the record in the women's
100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.13. Iona's Heidi Gregson broke her
own record in the women's 800-meter run as she finished in 2:10.45.
Parham was named the Most Outstanding Performer for Track Events after winning the 400-meter hurdles and her record setting run in the 100-meter hurdles. Manhattan's Malin Olsson earned Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events. Olsson won the long jump with a record leap of 5.92-meters and also the triple jump (11.85-meters).
