Edison, N.J. - A total of 1,626 athletes were honored for their achievements both academically and athletically as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the 2012-13 MAAC Academic Honor Roll.
To be eligible for the MAAC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must hold a grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members of the MAAC with athletes represented in all 24 sports that the conference sponsors.
Marist College heads the list of honored student-athletes with 246, followed by Iona College with 165 and Fairfield University with 154. The rest of the list is as follows: Manhattan College with 137, Loyola University Maryland with 136, Canisius College with 135, Niagara University with 124, Rider University with 123, Siena College with 123 and Saint Peter’s University with 99. Among the associate members, Jacksonville University, which competes in men's lacrosse and women's rowing, has the most with 36.
