Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - On Saturday, September 22, 2012, the members of the 2012 Marist Men's Lacrosse Team participated in the second annual Team EC/RN 5k run/walk.  The race was organized in honor of 2010 Hatboro-Horsham grads, Robert Nagel and Edward Coombs, a member of the Marist Men's Lacrosse Team who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in August 2011.

Edward Coombs was a 2010 graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School who went on to play NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse at Marist College. Coombs had a standout freshman season for the Red Foxes. He was a 2010 All-Suburban One Continental Conference midfielder, who helped the Hatters to an 18-6 record and a share of the league title with Central Bucks East, as well as a state playoff berth. Nagel also graduated from HH in 2010 and was a key player on the title team.

The Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation was set up by Eddie's family to honor those student-athletes who exemplify the same strong character as Eddie. Eddie was a well-respected member of the Marist Community by staff and students. He had the ability to make everyone feel as though he was their best friend with his smile.

Proceeds from the event were donated to the Edward Coombs Foundation and will help to fund scholarships.
