LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – After his record-breaking performance last week at the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, Rider University junior Zack Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River HS North) was named the CollegeSwimming.Com Division I National Male Swimmer of the Week.

“Zack was truly ‘on’ at the MAAC Championships,” Rider University Head Coach Steve Fletcher said. “He broke conference and University records that were set in 2009, which was the year of the full body technical suit. It makes his record-breaking swims that much more impressive. We're proud of him for this national recognition and his season will continue with more racing in the next few weeks.”

Molloy was named the MAAC Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet for the second year in a row thanks to breaking five conference records, three as a part of a relay quartet and two individually, at the four-day event last week. In total, Zack took home gold in the 400 free relay (2:59.18), 100 free (43.47), 200 free (1:34.84), 200 free relay (1:20.40) and the 800 free relay (6:31.70).

This marks the second time in his illustrious career that Molloy has been named the Swimmer of the Week.

Rider returns to the pool on March, 3-5, traveling to Annapolis, MD, to compete in the ECAC Championships hosted by Navy.
