Kim led the Saints in finishing tied for eighth overall at the Cornell Invitational, and was the second biggest mover up the leaderboard in the final round of the 16-team Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge. Kim’s performance at the season-opening Cornell Invitational helped Siena to a 36-hole lead through the 54-hole event, as the Saints finished just five strokes back in the strong 14-team field and 59 shots ahead of MAAC foe Canisius. Kim shot rounds of 76, 71 (even par) and 73, which included a pair of eagles. Kim shot rounds of 80 and 73 at Dartmouth’s challenging Quechee Club. His final round of 73 was one of the best individuals rounds of the day, as he improved by 22 places on the final leaderboard.
Female Golfer of the Month:
Annie Songeun Lee, University at Albany
Junior Annie Songeun Lee tied for second place individually, helping UAlbany to a fourth place finish out of 12 teams at the Rutgers Women’s Invitational (9/16-17). Lee shot 10 over par (226) in the three-round tournament with a 76 in the first 18 holes and back-to-back 75’s in the final two rounds. She led the entire tournament field of 70 players in par 4 scoring average with a 4.03 average, as well as made a team-high six birdies. At the Dartmouth Invitational (9/24-25), Lee shot 79-76--155 to tie for 22nd in the 78-athlete field.
