Quinnipiac University senior Rachel Horton went 2-for-2 on the weekend. Horton won a match at No. 1 doubles with partner Sydney Young, defeating Niagara University’s team of Sharleen Deshmukh and Sansriti Ranjan (6-3). She later went on to claim her second victory of the day at the No. 2 singles spot against Shannon Wong (6-4, 6-1).
Defending MAAC Champions Monmouth University started its first conference match of the spring with a 7-0 win over Saint Peter’s University. Sophomore Nicola Pipoli was recently ranked #99 in the nation in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. He defeated Jorge Rogriguez of Saint Peter’s at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-0). Pipoli also defeated Saint Peter’s at the No. 2 doubles position with partner Vikrant Dahiya, (6-0).
