Drew Arciuolo batted a team-high .611 (11-for-18) with nine runs scored and 10 RBI in the Stags' 3-1 week. In his four games, Arciuolo recorded three multi-hit games, including four base knocks in the series opener against Monmouth, a game where he tallied seven RBI. Entering the week with one home run in 442 career at-bats, Arciuolo belted three in the week, including two in the opening win against Monmouth. He also was perfect in patrolling center field in the week with nine putouts and threw out a runner at third in the series against the Hawks.
Andrew Sipowicz had a career-game on Saturday, throwing a complete game (seven inning) one-hit shutout against the Iona Gaels. Sipowicz allowed just one base runner total, and set down the final 15 batters he faced as he improved to 4-2 on the season. Sipowicz excelled in the contest, fanning one Iona batter and throwing just 69 pitches through he seven frames. The Buffalo, N.Y. native helped Canisius secure the series victory with the crucial game-two win.
Freshman starting pitcher John Yocum closed out a weekend series at Marist with an impressive outing for the Broncs. Yocum earned his third career victory thanks to tossing 6.2 innings and allowing just one earned run. He scattered six hits and matched a career-high with eight strikeouts. The win was his second in MAAC play this season and it also marked his third quality start of the spring.
