Saint Peter’s Men’s Basketball Defeats UAlbany, 59-55, in First Round CIT Action

EDISON, NJ – In the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, the Saint Peter’s University Peacocks defeated UAlbany 59-55. This is the first postseason victory for the Peacocks since the 1980 National Invitation Tournament. Saint Peter’s has earned a bye into the CIT Quarterfinals.

With the victory, Saint Peter’s reaches the 20-win plateau for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign. Nick Griffin led the charge for Saint Peter’s with a game-high 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Quadir Welton and Trevis Wyche combined for 24 points in the victory. This game featured 13 lead changes and five ties. Saint Peter’s held UAlbany to 27 second half points.
