Kearnan, Hreshko & Dempsey Take Home Weekly Lacrosse Awards

Offensive Player of the Week

Conor Kearnan, Canisius

Jr., 5-8, A, Courtice, Ontario/St. Stephen's (Saint Joseph's)

Kearnan tallied 10 points on six goals and four assists to lead Griffs to a split of its two games last week. Scored three goals and added three assists in 18-11 setback to Hobart on March 14. Tallied three goalls and added one assist in 17-6 victory over Marist in MAAC opener on March 18.

Defensive Player of the Week

Nick Hreshko, Monmouth

Sr., 5-6, GK, Warrington, PA/La Salle College HS

Goalkeeper Nick Hreshko backstopped the Hawks in their 8-7 overtime win over Quinnipiac in the conference opener on Saturday night. The senior recorded 12 saves in the victory and recorded double-digit saves for the fourth time this season. Hreshko also picked up three ground balls in the contest and has limited opponents to seven or less goals in three consecutive games. Hreshko is the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, an honor he has received twice this season. Monmouth won its conference opener for the first time and also defeated Quinnipiac for the first time in four meetings.

Rookie of the Week

Donavon Dempsey, Detroit Mercy

Fr., 5-9, A, Lakeville, MN/Lakeville South

Dempsey kept up his strong play with two goals, two ground balls and a caused turnover in the victory over Manhattan. It was his second-straight game with two goals and the third-straight that he found the back of the net.
