Scarlett Prepping For MLS Collegiate Combines

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Senior defender Jordan Scarlett has been invited to the New York Red Bulls collegiate combine, and the 2016 Las Vegas College Combine, which is hosted by various MLS programs including the Seattle Sounders, Toronto FC, Orlando City SC, and the Columbus Crew SC.

The Bulls combine is being held at the clubs’ training facility in Whippany, NJ on Dec. 16-17, and Scarlett will travel out west from Dec. 11-13 to work out for other MLS programs.

First year head coach James Hamilton on Scarlett post Iona:

"We've always believed Jordan has what it takes to play at the next level. For me, it's his passion and his drive that gives him the edge; on and off the pitch, Jay wants to be the best. There are plenty of talented soccer players out there but I can't imagine anyone who wants it more than Jordan and we wish him the best of luck."

Scarlett made an immediate impact upon setting foot at Iona his rookie season.  He appeared in 18 games his freshman season, making nine starts.  Scarlett had a career-best five assists as a junior.  He finished his Iona career with 54 games player and seven total points.

As a junior he was named to the All-MAAC Second Team, and raised the ante his senior campaign with All-MAAC First Team accolades.  Scarlett excelled off the soccer field as well, being named to the All-MAAC Academic Team his sophomore, junior and senior years.
