EDISON, NJ – The 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Rowing Championships will commence on Sunday, May 15, at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, New Jersey. The championship’s events will showcase competitors from five MAAC institutions and five associate members.

The Jacksonville women’s rowing team is looking to capture its third consecutive MAAC rowing title. In 2015 the Dolphins tallied 53 points to win their second rowing championship in the school’s history and earned the MAAC’s automatic qualifier bid to the NCAA Rowing Championships. Jacksonville’s Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 won first place in their respective races to help the Dolphins capture the victory.

The Jacksonville men’s rowing team is hoping to win its second consecutive MAAC Rowing Championship trophy. Last year during the 2015 MAAC Rowing Championships Jacksonville’s Varsity 8 upset Marist in a winner-take-all final, earning its first MAAC championship in program history.

Due to projected inclement weather in the afternoon the first race will begin at 6:21AM. Admission to the championship is free.
