Alexis Wayne enters her first year at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference as the Director of Women’s Basketball. 

As the Director, she is responsible for developing the MAAC women's basketball schedule and for the planning and operations of the MAAC Women's Basketball Championship.  Additionally, she assists in the development of in-season and championship policies and administration agreements for women's basketball, and assists with the NCAA Championship event hosting.  She will serve as the event manager for the annual MAAC Honor Roll Dinner and will also oversee the MAAC's ancillary events at the MAAC Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournament. Wayne will also serve as the tournament event manager at the 2018 Women’s Basketball NCAA Regional in Albany, NY. 

Wayne joined the MAAC staff after serving as an Administrative Fellow for the conference during the 2015-16 academic year.  In that role she served as the primary media contact for selected sports, aided in both MAAC Championships and special events, assisted with the conference’s social media strategies, and developed multiple MAAC Championship Programs.  She also served as a ticketing/marketing graduate assistant with Niagara University’s Athletic Department during the 2014-15 academic year. 

A native of Cheektowaga, New York, Wayne is a 2013 magna cum laude graduate of Niagara University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management, where she was a four-year softball player.   She then went on to obtain her master’s degree in Sport Management from Niagara University in 2015.
